2008 Festival Information

The Knife River Music Festival takes place July 18-20, 2008 in the picturesque and historic Scandinavian fishing village of Knife River, Minnesota, along the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior. Formerly known as the Two Harbors Folk Festival over the past 18 years, this year the event has taken on a new name, a new location and an exciting new direction.

The festival showcases an exciting mix of the region's top names in traditional, ethnic, and roots music along with names from a broader national / international stage. Experience the breathtaking scenery, the colorful heritage of a small Scandinavian-settled fishing village, artisans with their wares, tasty foods, and some of the best music to be found anywhere!

The Knife River Music Festival is located in the heart of Knife River, Minnesota, along the North Shore Scenic Highway between Duluth and Two Harbors, MN. It is a short 15 minute drive north from the Duluth area. The Scenic Highway offers spectacular views of the shoreline and Lake Superior along the way. The event is located on the site of the Knife River Campground, near the marina, the Knife River, the public beach and within view of Knife Island in Lake Superior.
